Orthodontic Treatment Project for Young Patients with Clefts

Second phase orthodontic treatment can help Young CLP patients, before completion of growth, further expend the upper alveolus and align the misplaced teeth so that their underbite problem will be minimized and thus the complexity of the future jaw surgery will also be alleviated, or can even avoid for mild cases.

Sponsored by the UBS Optimus Foundation, HKACLP has launched this project since 1 January 2021, subsidizing young cleft lip and palate patients from grassroots families to receive second phase orthodontic treatment that enables the patients to further correct their underbite problem and at the same time release part of the burden on the parents.
